Providing oversight to funding request development, grant negotiation grant implementation and grant closure is considered an essential function of the Country Coordinating Mechanism. Oversight is one of the CCM areas of focus, which is linked to the Global Fund’s four strategic objectives to maximize impact against HIV, TB and Malaria, promote and protect human rights and gender equality, mobilize increases resources and build resilient and sustainable systems for health. To fulfill its oversight function, CCM Nepal has established an Oversight Committee to answer the general key oversight questions covering financial, management, and programmatic aspects of each grant. The main function of the CCM Oversight Committee is to support the full CCM in overseeing each grant. There are 12 members in Oversight Committee having expertise in different skill sets-disease expert, program management expert, procurement and supply chain management expert, health education and communication expert, social relations and social issues expert, human rights and GESI expert, Gender and Social Inclusion expert including representative from key population and people living with disease. The Chair of Oversight Committee is Ms. Rita Bhandari Joshi, Chief of Health Coordination Division, Ministry of Health and Population and the Vice-chair is Ms. Ivana Lohar, Program Management, Team Leader Family Planning, HIV and Social Marketing, USAID.
